NEWS UPDATES FOR ACCOUNTING AND TAX SERVICES

How to verify the caller is CRA employee and not a scammer?

New scams and frauds are created daily in Canada. Many scams mimic government services to steal your personal and financial information. As a taxpayer, be careful of any contact claiming to be from the CRA and requesting personal information such as a SIN, credit card number, bank account number, or passport number. Scams may use threatening or abusive language to scare you into settling a fake CRA debt. Other messages may drive you to a bogus CRA website where you must verify your identification.
